The Challenge

Addiction Campuses uses a range of cloud-based and premises-based software and services to promote and position itself, capture responses and engage people with the best treatment options while being as efficient as possible with its marketing and customer engagement resources.

But it could take several days for Addiction Campuses IT and operations staff to pull data from across their cloud-based services and corporate servers into a visual report format that could be analyzed and used by their executive team to make business decisions.

“We have a very narrow time window to capture someone’s needs and deliver the best solution,” said Sean Collins, IT Manager of Addiction Campuses. “But our existing data tools and analytics prevented us from analyzing and allocating our marketing and sales resources to the *right* sites and tools that will reach people in need. The Solution

Addiction Campuses started their search for a solution, and initially went to a recognized industry leader in business intelligence before realizing that the company wasn’t delivering what they needed.

“We use some proprietary systems, and found that our initial company choice wasn’t interested in helping us with a solution that addressed all our needs,” said Collins. “They were primarily focused on the front-end, visualization, rather than analytics, and they were more interested in having us conform to their standard out of the box solution than providing a solution more suited to our needs – and when we did need help, it would take weeks to resolve an issue.”

After trying to get the visualization tool to work for 12 months, Collins felt pressure to quickly deliver on their BI investment. Addiction Campuses team can compare data across all of their outreach campaigns and tools and quickly decide which resources and websites are more effective when reaching out to people seeking help with addiction.

For example, they can compare PPC spend and clicks against phone calls placed that result in bookings per campaign and website. They can also compare that to results from print, radio, and boots on ground efforts using visual charts for them to compare different campaigns to make decisions, side by side.

“Before Known Factors’ solution it was like being blind-folded,” said Collins. “Because of the difficulty in generating reports across all our data sources, nothing was real-time and we’d only get clarity once a month – the rest of the month was spent more or less operating in the dark. “

Since implementing the Known Factors’ solution, the company has expanded operations and added two new locations which would have been more difficult for them to do without accurate information.
